Evidence-Based Treatment Philosophy

NJA Helpline's treatment center in Braintree, MA takes a whole-person approach to addiction recovery. We combine proven clinical therapies, medical expertise, and holistic wellness practices to treat not just the addiction, but the underlying causes that drive it. Our on-site clinical team develops individualized treatment plans for every patient, addressing physical, psychological, and emotional needs.

We believe that lasting recovery requires more than detox alone. At our facility, patients progress through a structured continuum of care that adapts as they grow stronger, from medically supervised stabilization through residential treatment to outpatient support and alumni programming.

Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps patients identify and reframe negative thought patterns that contribute to substance use. Through structured sessions at our facility, individuals learn practical coping skills to manage triggers, cravings, and stress without relying on substances.

Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT teaches mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. This modality is particularly effective for patients at our center who experience intense emotions or co-occurring mood disorders alongside addiction.

Peer Support

Group Therapy

Led by licensed therapists in our group therapy rooms, these sessions bring patients together to share experiences, build mutual support, and develop social skills. Group therapy fosters accountability and helps break the isolation that often accompanies addiction.

One-on-One

Individual Counseling

Private, one-on-one sessions with a licensed counselor at our Braintree facility allow patients to explore personal trauma, family dynamics, and emotional barriers to recovery in a safe, confidential setting tailored to their unique history.

Family Support

Family Therapy

Addiction affects the entire family. NJA Helpline's family therapy program brings loved ones into the treatment process, rebuilding trust, improving communication, and educating families on how to support long-term recovery after discharge.

Recovery Framework

12-Step Facilitation

Our therapists guide patients through the principles of the 12-step model, connecting them with peer support networks and recovery communities in the greater Braintree and Boston area that sustain recovery long after leaving our facility.

Whole-Person Care

Holistic Therapies

Our campus offers yoga, meditation, art therapy, and fitness programming designed to heal the mind and body together. These complementary therapies reduce stress, improve mental clarity, and give patients healthy outlets for managing daily life in recovery.

What Our Patients Say

Hear from individuals and families whose lives were changed at NJA Helpline's treatment center in Braintree, Massachusetts.

"When I arrived at NJA Helpline's Braintree facility, I was at rock bottom with my alcohol addiction. The residential program gave me the structure I desperately needed. The private room was comfortable, the meals were genuinely good, and the therapists made me feel like a person again, not just a patient. After 60 days, I walked out of that building with a plan, a support network, and real hope for the first time in years."

Michael T.
Residential Treatment Program
"I was terrified of opioid detox, but the medical team at NJA Helpline monitored me 24/7 and managed every symptom. Once I stabilized, transitioning into residential treatment on the same campus made everything easier. I did not have to start over somewhere new. I am six months clean now, and I owe that fresh start to the staff at this center."

Sarah R.
Medical Detox & Residential Program
"The intensive outpatient program at NJA Helpline let me continue working while still getting the treatment I needed. I drove to the Braintree facility three evenings a week for group therapy and individual counseling. The CBT sessions were a game-changer for managing my triggers. The flexibility of the IOP schedule made it realistic for me to commit fully without losing my job or my progress."
JK
James K.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
"For years I self-medicated my anxiety and depression with alcohol, and no one treated both problems at the same time. NJA Helpline's dual diagnosis program changed everything. Their psychiatrist adjusted my medication while I worked with a therapist on DBT skills in the same building. The yoga studio and meditation garden became my safe spaces. For the first time, I understood that my mental health and my addiction were connected, and I finally had a treatment plan that addressed both. I am a completely different person now."
DL
Diana L.
Dual Diagnosis Program
"Watching my son struggle with addiction was the hardest thing our family has ever faced. The family therapy program at NJA Helpline's Braintree center helped us rebuild trust and learn how to support his recovery without enabling. The family visiting area gave us a comfortable space to reconnect. We are grateful to every staff member who treated our family with such kindness and patience."
